Bail Bond Costs

Florida Bail Bond Cost & FAQ

Clear, transparent answers about pricing, payment plans, and how the bail process works in Florida.

How much does a bail bond cost in Florida?

In Florida, the cost of a bail bond is mandated by the state. The standard premium is 10% of the total state bail amount set by the court. For example, if the judge sets bail at $5,000, the bail bond premium will be $500. This fee is non-refundable, as it is the cost of our service to secure the defendant's release. Federal bonds or other specific types of bonds may have different premium requirements.

What's the difference between bail and a bail bond?

Bail is the total amount set by the court as a condition of release. Depending on the case and the court's rules, a person may be able to post the full amount directly with the court. A bail bond is a surety bond provided by a licensed bail bondsman. Instead of paying the full bail amount, the customer pays a non-refundable premium—typically 10% for Florida state charges—and the surety bond backs the court-ordered amount.

Do you offer no-collateral bail bonds?

Collateral requirements are evaluated case by case and depend on current underwriting requirements, the charge, the bond amount, the defendant's circumstances, and the indemnitor or co-signer. A no-collateral option cannot be promised before the case is reviewed. Please call us to discuss the current requirements for your situation.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, we understand that an unexpected arrest can cause financial strain. We offer payment plans subject to approval and current terms. Our agents will work with you to determine if a manageable payment arrangement is possible based on your specific situation. Contact us to discuss the requirements for a payment plan.

What happens if you skip bail in Florida?

If a defendant fails to appear in court, the judge will issue a bench warrant for their arrest, and the bail bond will be forfeited. The indemnitor (co-signer) becomes financially responsible for the full bail amount unless the defendant is returned to custody within the timeframe permitted by the court. We strongly advise maintaining communication with us and the court to resolve any missed dates immediately.
